Amazing! Sugar Plum Fairy by P.Tchaikovsky – Glass Harp LIVE

I try and share as much neat stuff with you guys as I can.  A friend turned me on to this today, and in the spirit of Christmas, I thought I would pass it on to you.  People have such amazing talents.

90 Minutes To Live Anthology and More Music Suggestions

Hello my children, my children.  Journal Stone’s 2011 Anthology, 90 Minutes to Live, debuts on Friday.  Do I have a story included?  Yes, as a matter of fact, I do!  All proceeds from this book go to a medical fund established for the current president of the Horror Writers Association, Rocky Wood, as he battles Lou Gehrig’s Disease.  Do your part in the fight against ALS and get a great book at the same time.  Here is the Amazon site, and here is the Goodreads page for the book if you are interested in checking it out.

Also, don’t forget, if you are looking for a Christmas anthology, Christmas Lites is still going strong.  Another charitable offering, all proceeds go to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence.  Buy it here.

Now that’s enough selling for today, don’t you think?  You’re musical interludes are below.  The first explains why we build the wall.  The second is more uplifting.  A scene from a play, it’s the love story of a dragon and a fighter from Dungeons and Dragons.  Nerdy?  Nah.  Well, maybe.

Free Music Friday–In Osaka in the Rain by Matt the Electrician

Following up on the death of music post from earlier, I’ve decided to add a new feature to the site–Free Music Friday.  Today’s contribution comes from Matt the Electrician.  This is definitely a song you aren’t going to hear on the radio.  I’m pretty sure this video was recorded in somebody’s house.  Anyway, enjoy!

Now support the artist and buy his music here.

The Death of Good Music

It’s been long predicted and oft lamented, but you can’t read this article and not come away with the thought that popular music is in trouble.  I’ve decided to occasionally feature high quality songs–sometimes mainstream, sometimes independent–on the site.  I mean, why not, right?  Anyway, you may like some of it, all of it, or none of it, but at least you can’t say I didn’t try.  Up this week, the haunting tune “Video Games” by Lana Del Ray.  The video is pure Los Angeles in all its gritty glory.  Also, she has very large lips.
