She sat alone on a wide sandy beach that Friday the 13th, nothing but her chair and an umbrella to remind the world that mankind lived upon it. There wasn’t a cloud in the great blue sky and not a bird or beast to be seen for miles. A shadow passed over her.

I have a feeling this story will not leave my mind for some time! I will wonder, I will ponder. I will try to imagine any and every possible thing that would cause that shadow. The best short stories are the ones you can’t forget 🙂
